‘One life but we’re not the same.
We get to carry each other, carry each other’

For his exhibition at d.a.c., the Austrian artist will solely arrive with a bag of strings, tapes and wires. For his examinations during his short stay in Italy, Hollerer will collect random objects and things that inspire him along the way in the streets and neighborhoods of the village and nearby cities. In an intuitive process, he furthermore plans to arrange, transform and connect his discoveries, resulting in ONE single, temporary piece of art, spanning through the entire exhibition space. The future assemblages will either stimulate or disturb each other and create an unexpected dynamic.

Clemens Hollerer invites visitors to enter his universe of ideas and creations and – for a short moment – take a step back from their fast-paced lifestyle and environments.

‘Fractures, scratches, splinters and traces. Objects patched together, brought into a tenuous balance and quite often joined in a makeshift manner. Sculptures rhythmically segmenting the space, at once holding it together and dissolving it, permeating it and bringing it into a fragile stability. Clemens Hollerer’s works explore the attractive pull exerted by destruction. Fundamentally interested in the question of space and its transformation, he is concerned with our surrounds as shaped by permanent constructions – the city – but also the landscape as domesticated by humans. The photographic gaze, itself taking up focusing as a theme, stands at the beginning of his works and his artistic development.’

Per la sua mostra alla d.a.c., l’artista austriaco arriverà esclusivamente con un sacchetto di corde, nastri e fili. Per gli esami durante il suo breve soggiorno in Italia, Hollerer raccoglierà lungo il percorso per le strade e i quartieri del paese e delle città vicine oggetti casuali e cose che lo ispirano. In un processo intuitivo, progetta inoltre di organizzare, trasformare e collegare le sue scoperte, dando vita a UN’unica opera d’arte temporanea, che si estende attraverso l’intero spazio espositivo. I futuri assemblaggi si stimoleranno o si disturberanno a vicenda e creeranno una dinamica inaspettata.

Clemens Hollerer invita i visitatori a entrare nel suo universo di idee e creazioni e, per un breve momento, a fare un passo indietro dal loro stile di vita e dai loro ambienti frenetici.

Sculture che segmentano ritmicamente lo spazio, tenendolo insieme e allo stesso tempo dissolvendolo, permeandolo e portandolo in una fragile stabilità. Le opere di Clemens Hollerer esplorano l’attrazione esercitata dalla distruzione. Fondamentalmente interessato alla questione dello spazio e della sua trasformazione, si preoccupa del nostro ambiente circostante modellato da costruzioni permanenti – la città – ma anche del paesaggio addomesticato dall’uomo. Lo sguardo fotografico, assumendo esso stesso la messa a fuoco come tema, è all’inizio delle sue opere e del suo sviluppo artistico.’

Pour son exposition à d.a.c., l’artiste autrichien arrivera uniquement avec un sac de ficelles, de rubans et de fils. Pour ses examens lors de son court séjour en Italie, Hollerer collectera au hasard des objets et des choses qui l’inspirent dans les rues et les quartiers du village et des villes voisines. Dans un processus intuitif, il envisage en outre d’organiser, de transformer et de relier ses découvertes, ce qui aboutira à UNE œuvre d’art unique et temporaire, s’étendant sur tout l’espace d’exposition. Les futurs assemblages se stimuleront ou se perturberont et créeront une dynamique inattendue.

Clemens Hollerer invite les visiteurs à entrer dans son univers d’idées et de créations et, l’espace d’un court instant, à prendre du recul par rapport à leur style de vie et à leur environnement au rythme effréné.
